Invited by the Japan Foundry Engineering Society (JFS), a 6-person FICMES delegation from China attended the 158th Japan Foundry Engineering Society Meeting that was held on May 27-29 in Tokyo Japan.
At the meeting, Professor Sun Guoxiong made an invited lecture on Thinking about the Development of China’s Foundry Industry, in which the future development direction of China’s foundry industry was expatiated in detail. After the presentation was over, Professor Tatsuo Sato, on behalf of JFS, gave a commemorative medal to Professor Sun Guoxiong. Professor Sun, on behalf of FICMES, responded by giving a commemorative brochure to Professor Yoshiki Tsunekawa, the President of JFS. At the cocktail party in the evening of May 28, Mr. Su Shifang, Secretary General of FICMES, delivered a speech in which he introduced the preparation work of the 11th Asian Foundry Congress, which will be held on Nov. 12-15, 2011 in Guangzhou, China. The theme for the Congress is“Advanced Foundry Technology and Sustainable Development of the Foundry Industry”. At the end of his speech, he invited colleagues from the foundry industry in Japan to China to participate in the AFC-11 congress. During the exchange after the meeting, Professor Yoshiki Tsunekawa expressed that the JFS will send a delegation to China to take part in the AFC-11 congress.
