2025 2nd SEA Die Casting Congress Successfully Held in Bangkok

2025 2nd SEA Die Casting Congress was grandly held on May 28-29, 2025, at Dusit Princess Srinakarin Bangkok in Thailand. The Congress, themed Collaborative Development · New Energy Vehicles Leading Market Transformation, is the largest and most influential industry summit to date in Southeast Asia, combining new energy vehicles with die casting technology. Over 350 representatives from automobile manufacturers, die casting companies and solution providers from Thailand, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Germany, France, Switzerland, Sweden, etc. jointly explored new opportunities in the industry and collaboratively charted a new blueprint for its future.

Ms. Bao Linlin, Secretary-General of WFO Die Casting Commission and Director of Conference & Exhibition of FICMES, delivered an opening speech on behalf of the organizers. In the speech, she extended a warm welcome to the guests and expressed her heartfelt thanks to all partners. She said that in the process of global manufacturing transformation, die casting technology has become a key support for strategic areas such as automotive  lightweighting and new energy. The Congress, bringing together top wisdom around the world, aims to break down geographical barriers and promote the development of the industry through technical collaboration, mutual recognition of standards, and deep integration of the industrial chain. She earnestly looks forward to participants embracing an open mindset to jointly pursue innovation, putting into practice the collaborative spirit of "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together," and working hand in hand to shape a new future for the global die casting industry.

In order to further deepen the talent cooperation between China and Thailand in foundry, give full play to the technical advantages of experts in Thailand, and promote the coordinated development of industry and academia in China and Thailand, FICMES held an expert appointment ceremony and issued certificates during the event. The newly appointed experts, with profound domain mastery across academic research, technological innovation and market expansion and distinguished contributions to the industry, hail from prestigious organizations including TDCA, Ryobi Group, ATA Casting, Aisin Corporation and Maxion Wheels (Thailand). In order to further stimulate industrial vitality and promote service spirit, establish a model of industrial service, and promote the healthy and sustainable development of the die casting industry, FICMES presented the 2025 Die Casting Industry Service Star award at the Congress to recognize individuals for excellent performance and outstanding contributions to the development of the industry. In a warm atmosphere, experts carried out in-depth exchanges about supply chain construction in Southeast Asia, automotive industry opportunities and overseas market expansion among other topics. On May 28, conference attendees visited CHANGAN Automobile, Rayong for an on-site study tour. Mr. Cai Hongwei, General Manager of Changan Automobile Thailand and Changan Automobile Southeast Asia Co., Ltd., warmly guided the guests through the facility. By observing the intelligent production lines and advanced manufacturing processes, participants gained in-depth insights into Changan’s achievements in technological innovation and lean management. The factory’s highly efficient production flow and rigorous quality control system left a lasting impression, further strengthening confidence in Changan’s global competitiveness. CHANGAN Automobile Rayong, a key production base in Changan's global strategy, began construction in November 2023 and officially commenced operations on May 16, 2025. The facility integrates smart workshops for welding, painting, general assembly, engines, and batteries, with automation reaching 90% at critical quality control stations. With an initial annual capacity of 100,000 units (expandable to 200,000 in Phase II), the plant embodies a Green & Smart design philosophy. It employs cutting-edge technologies such as solar power generation, rainwater recycling, air recirculation, virtual simulation, and digital twin systems, significantly reducing energy consumption per-vehicle while boosting manufacturing efficiency. This project exemplifies the high productivity and sustainability of Intelligent Manufacturing from China.
