High-Efficiency and Lightweight Solutions for the Frame and Skeleton of Humanoid Robots
With the deep integration of artificial intelligence and precision manufacturing technologies, the humanoid robotics industry is accelerating its transition from the laboratory to large-scale production. According to forecasts, the global humanoid robotics market will surpass 15 billion US dollars by 2030, emerging as a blue ocean market with significant growth potential after smart vehicles. However, during the rise of this emerging industry, the manufacturing of core components still faces bottlenecks associated with traditional processes, such as high weight, high cost, and long production cycles. This situation also presents new technological challenges and market opportunities for the die casting industry. How to meet the stringent demands of humanoid robots for lightweight construction, high precision, and high efficiency through innovation in die casting processes has become a critical direction for collaborative efforts across the industrial chain.
The 21st China Die Casting Congress is honored to invite Mr. Wang Xiaodi, Head of the Embodied Intelligence Research Division/Senior Engineer, CITIC Dicastal Co., Ltd., to deliver a keynote speech titled "High-Efficiency and Lightweight Solutions for the Frame and Skeleton of Humanoid Robots".

CITIC Dicastal Co., Ltd.

He holds a Doctor of Engineering degree and is a Senior Engineer. He is currently the head of the Embodied Intelligence Research Division at CITIC Dicastal Co., Ltd., he focuses on lightweight design and manufacturing of key components for automobiles and humanoid robots. He has led 1 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project and 2 provincial-ministerial sci-tech projects, winning the Second-Class Award for Scientific and Technological Progress of Hebei Province. He has published 16 SCI/EI-indexed papers, with 10 authorized invention patents, 12 utility model patents and 3 software copyrights.

Brief  Abstract of the Presentation
The humanoid robot industry is embracing mass production opportunities, with the global market size projected to exceed 15 billion US dollars by 2030. However, traditional manufacturing of core components is plagued by the pain points of heavy weight, high cost and slow production, which brings new opportunities for the die casting industry. CITIC Dicastal Co., Ltd. leverages its core vacuum high-pressure die casting technology to build a complete "material-structure-process-heat treatment" system, achieving breakthroughs of 60% cost reduction and 15% weight reduction. Currently, we have entered the supply chains of leading robotics enterprises, gained recognition via small-batch deliveries and won industry awards for lightweighting.

Also organized by the Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES), CHINA DIECASTING & CHINA NONFERROUS expo 2026, will be held from July 15 to 17, 2026 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (Halls N1–N4). As Asia's largest specialized exhibition for die casting and nonferrous foundry, this edition, under the theme "Twin Engines: Al & Mg, A Lightweight Future," is expected to span 49,200 square meters, attract over 600 exhibitors, and welcome 28,000 professional visitors. Colleagues from around the world are warmly invited to visit and exchange insights.
The global die casting industry is undergoing several major transformations: the scaling and industrialization of large megacasting, breakthroughs in rheocasting technologies, and the expanding potential of die casting beyond new energy vehicles - into fields such as Two-Wheelers (Emerging Trend: Replacing Aluminum with Magnesium), humanoid robot, energy storage, photovoltaics, and aerospace. As a barometer of the Asian market, the event will showcase technological advancements, product applications, and integrated solutions across these three key tracks.
